Bredonborough.
NightWorld adventures: improvising with Bill Rieflin and another. Frank Sheldon applied his Alexander skills to me, noting at a glance how out-of-balance my body was. Perhaps this is a night-time consequence of daytime actuality: my left arm has returned to troubling-mode.

Larks’ Transformation instrumentally Allegorized
:: Posted by davidly on November 04, 2012
… retooling of Larks’: A redefined masterpiece which stands on its own, not apart from the others, but taking its place as another indispensable piece of the oeuvre.
If we listen to music, and hear it, we connect to it, we become a part of it: and then the music changes. The 1972-73 KC Quintet with Jamie is now being re-viewed, re-heard. The music, we might expect, to be the same music now as it was then. But it is not. In the Creative space from which/where the music emerged, the music continues available to further creative development.
The music of King Crimson 1973-74, intrinsically, is now somehow different to what it was when it was played. As with The Great Deceiver (1993), perhaps now an audience, with more open ears than those available at the time, might engage.
Probably, it is also now examined with a greater impartiality than ever before. No abusive and dopey commentary from the English comics, even contemporary versions of Lester Bangs in the US. What has changed? Partly perhaps, dopey reviewing has moved online to chat-rooms and blog-sites. On the occasions when I stumble through a chat/blog portal, I come across the same level of criticism/reviewing I know well from the first three decades of my professional life. Uninformed commentary continues, exemplifying a state of being, a level of understanding, a quality of experiencing, that deters authentic connection to the nominal subject / topic of discussion. How fortunate that my professional life is no longer governed by weather-opinions of those with thinking processes placed where sunshine never falls.
Who says Fripp isn’t creating new worKc?
Well, look out for The Road To Red, then. And how about The Re-ConstruKction Of Light?
Noting the press of dissension and industrial gravity are not supportive of creative endeavour.
10.31 From a pal in New Jersey…
- we’re OK - no power for four days but we had water and could cook. Kept the Koi alive with an electric generator that we purchased after the last storm, so the pond water could keep circulating. Had two trees down in the back that took part of the fence out - inconsequential.
On our street, many trees came down, one snapped a utility pole in half and the electric transformer was dancing in the street - hot, live high voltage - fortunately no fire resulted, that would have been the end of the neighborhood. We were just lucky.
We had 100 mph winds coming at us from the north at the peak of the storm. The eye hit about 40 miles south of us - and the northern edge took the worst hit - that’s us. The shoreline is about wiped out. Literally changed the geography and the loss of homes and businesses is terrible. Not only from the storm surge - something like 25 foot waves lifted the homes off their foundations, and then natural gas lines ruptured and then the fires - one neighborhood had 80 homes burn down - just terrible. Fortunately for us, although we’re only a mile from the ocean, we’re 120 feet above sea level - no flooding here.
Gasoline is being rationed beginning today. We’re going out for some food in a bit as the stores are opening again. We’re recovering quickly - opened our home to friends who still have nothing.
Overall, very grateful. Now to help others. At our Buddhist Temple tomorrow, we have our regular class plus a special prayer service for the storm victims - there will be no heat but there will be warmth.

A tasty Yo! Sushi lunch, walking, investigating the area’s stores. Most fab. Leaving c. 16.20 as the rush hour was kicking in.
19.34 T has set off for London for her Vintage TV Toyah Christmas show, to be filmed tomorrow at Regent’s Park Zoo.
Various explosions heard of the firework variety, but I have not seen any sparkling eruptions expressing support for the Jacobean interpretation of the Elizabethan Settlement.
